When you invest in mutual funds you are allotted units that represent a portion of the portfolio, i.e. the extent of investor's ownership in the scheme.

The combined securities (equities, bonds, etc.) and assets a mutual fund scheme owns are known as its portfolio.

The value of each unit is represented by the NAV of the mutual fund.

But…

Does NAV matter to select best mutual funds, or should you look at the NAV when investing in mutual funds?
