Festival seasons like Diwali and Christmas are for you to be close to your loved ones. And its often on occasions like these that you realize how important your family members are to you. Therefore their safety and security should be your top priority.

This season provide your family the security that they deserve and give yourself some peace of mind based on that certainty. By getting yourself insured you not only take care of your family but also secure their future, particularly in your absence.

Therefore it’s a little unfortunate to see individuals with families that depend on them entirely for their subsistence trying to postpone taking insurance. This season, we have seen a lot of people procrastinate insurance in order to buy or gift something like a TV, jewelry, clothes, watches that really isn’t as important as your family’s security. Nothing should make one postpone on something as critical as insurance.

There is another reason that should make you take insurance as a priority, rather than postpone it. An international trend, that is real eye-opener reveals that over 50% of the earning population post-retirement, ends up depending on others for survival. This can be attributed largely to procrastinating insurance or bad financial planning at the working age.

A lot of insurance-seekers postpone insurance believing it to be an expensive product. That is not really true. There are products to suit a wide section of the population including those who prefer a ‘less expensive’ insurance policy. For instance, with term assurance, you can get yourself insured for as less than Rs 2 per day per Rs 100,000.

So this season, don’t look at insurance as something that gets in the way in buying gifts for your loved ones. Or something that takes second place to your household shopping. Instead, be responsible and insure yourself and your family.
